Southeast Seafood Brokerage Company (Southeast Seafood) is a trusted processor and supplier of domestic high-quality crabmeat and live blue crabs, based in Des Allemands, Louisiana. Since 1972, our company has proudly offered fresh handpicked crabmeat as well as graded live blue crabs to retail and wholesale customers across the United States.

We prioritize quality, sustainability, and compliance with all HAACP, state, and federal regulations, taking pride in providing our customers premium Louisiana seafood!

Our History

Founded by Robert J. DeJean, Southeast Seafood has deep roots in Louisiana's seafood industry. Starting his journey as a commercial fisherman as a young man, Robert opened his first crabmeat processing plant, Southeast Crab Co., in Raceland, LA. Over time, he relocated the business to DesAllemands, establishing B&G Seafood, the home of "Kourtne’s Best" crabmeat. Today, Southeast Seafood is the exclusive distributor of "Kourtne’s Best," carrying on a legacy of providing the finest crabmeat products and to customers nationwide. Southeast Seafood is also well known for grading, packing and shipping high quality Louisiana blue crabs to both retail and wholesale customers both locally and throughout the United States.

Local & Sustainable Fishing

Our Process

At Southeast Seafood, we are dedicated to supporting our local community and promoting sustainable fishing practices. We purchase live crabs directly from local fishermen throughout the waters of Louisiana, ensuring we deliver only the freshest and highest-quality seafood. Once the crabs arrive at our facility in Des Allemands, Louisiana, they are carefully sorted into grades: #1's, #2's, females, and factory. These graded crabs are then sold wholesale, maintaining a high standard of quality for our customers.

 

In addition to our crab processing, we also produce fresh crawfish tails during crawfish season, offering another delicious product from our local waters. All our crabmeat and crawfish products are processed, produced, and packaged on-site under the highest food safety regulations. We take great pride in our local ties and commitment to our community, providing top-quality seafood while upholding the traditions and values of Louisiana's fishing industry.
